SENATE INQUIRY INTO SCIENTOLOGY BLOCKED BY GOVERNMENT AND OPPOSITION

Posted in Uncategorized by thecuriousmail on March 11, 2010

The ALP Federal Government and the Liberal-National

Party Opposition today voted to block a proposed Senate

inquiry into the Scientology church.

The inquiry was proposed by the Greens and independent

South Australian Senator Nick Xenophon, after having

received what Xenophon called “hundreds of allegations”.

Liberal senator Eric Abetz said he was worried it would allow disaffected people from all types of groups to air their

grievances.

Oh my God! The shame! But Eric, do the ‘disaffected people’ have a point, or not??? Better to ignore them then, eh?

A spokesman for ALP Government Senator Sherry, said “The Rudd government’s view is that a Senate inquiry into

the Church of Scientology is not justified on the basis of our view of the parliament’s function.”

Yes, yes Kevin Rudd, parliament should be seen and not heard! I’m glad we’ve finally cleared that up, brother

number one!

“(Prime Minister) Kevin Rudd and (Opposition Leader) Tony Abbott need to explain to the Australian people why

they have looked away, why they have walked away from an issue of public importance,” Xenophon told reporters.

(Remember, the Government has as recently as last week accused the Opposition of being obstructionist, and of

opposing all matters for the sake of simply opposing. But they both agree on blocking this proposed inquiry??).

Nick, does scientology donate to the main political parties??  Has scientology been lobbying them?? Are the main

political parties united on this because they are threatened by the minor parties and independents, and so seek to

exclude them?? And Nick, please don’t hold your breath waiting for Rudd or Abbott to honestly explain anything.

. . . . . Or Nick, are the main political parties as diseased and worthless as the scientologists?

A senate inquiry is not needed. The abuses that are occurring are of a crimminal nature and should be the subject of a police or law enforcement investigation. A senate inquiry opens the door to investigating any religion or philiosophy.
