HOORAY FOR THE MORAL LEAD!

Posted in Uncategorized by thecuriousmail on March 18, 2010

When you stuff up, admit it, apologize and mean it, fix it up, learn from it, and move on.

. . . . . . . . But not apparently if you’re in politics. ( Or business for that matter.)

Gossips said Liberal MP Peter Slipper had been asleep in the House of Representatives this week.

Mr Slipper strenuously denied it, and offered to “swear on a stack of bibles”.

Then a photograph, which could only have been taken by a fellow Liberal MP, on a mobile phone, which was sent

anonymously to a newspaper, showed Mr Slipper asleep.

Mr Slipper’s reaction??

Mr Slipper says the photograph had  “seriously interfered” with his work.

“I … seek a forensic examination of the photograph by a qualified person to ascertain formally from which seat the

photograph was taken,” he told parliament, requesting that the matter be sent to the privileges committee.

Er, Mr Slipper, Honourable Member of Parliament, you. are. a .KNOB! And it seems at least one of your colleagues

thinks so too.

Previously,  Qantas staff had barred Mr Slipper from reboarding a plane to Darwin, blaming bad behaviour. The MP

cited a combination of dental drugs and  a “couple of drinks”.

“I wasn’t in any way, shape or form drunk,” he said at the time. “I feel relatively innocent.”

. . .Er,  Mr Slipper, you are as “relatively innocent” as Australians are ‘relatively impressed’ by you!

But thank you for the moral lead.

Mr Slipper likes to berate workers. Yet a worker (as distinct to the boss) who falls asleep at work is very likely to be

sacked!

But thank you for the moral lead.
